Cleaning is an essential part of caring for your leather furniture. It not only removes the dirt and oils which can, over time, break down the leathers’ protective coating, but will also help to maintain the moisture balance in the leather. This is important for keeping the leather supple and makes it less likely to absorb spillages.

How often do you clean the leather furniture in your home or business? A wipe over with a damp cloth on a regular basis, say every week or two weeks, is recommended to remove surface dust and dirt and add moisture to the leather, but long term this isn’t going to be sufficient to get the most out of your leather furniture. In fact, with a little professional help leather furniture can stay looking almost as good as new for years.

Grain cleaning

Without regular cleaning, the microscopic grooves in the grain of leather upholstery eventually fill with dirt, either grease from the skin or microscopic contaminants from the air. Getting this out yourself can be a pain. There are many leather cleaning products on the shelf of the local supermarket but it’s difficult to find one that actually delivers on its promises.

Selecting the right products

In fact, off the shelf products aren’t always suitable for every type of leather, so care should always be taken when attempting to clean leather yourself. Inappropriate cleaning solutions can extract more moisture from already-worn leather and leave it cracked and tired. If in doubt, call a pro. At Cleansafe Solutions we stock a range of the leading professional leather cleaning products, which allow us to achieve outstanding cleaning results on the full range of different types of leather.

Our advanced solutions aren’t the only benefit of Cleansafe solutions’ leather cleaning service. Anti bacterial leather cleaning

Furniture tends to get a lot of use, making it a great breeding ground for bacteria. Particularly when there are pets around, all kinds of nasties can attach themselves to leather upholstery, ready to spread colds and make the family ill, as well as giving off unpleasant smells. Our cleaning methods eliminate this bacteria, tackling smells and making your leather furniture a much more hygienic place to sit. We do this without the need for noxious or corrosive chemicals, so the furniture will be ready for use and safe for all as soon as we’ve completed our work. Whilst we’re at it we’ll get deep down behind the cushions and get rid of any dust and dirt that has managed to work its way into the nooks and crannies.

The products we use at Cleansafe Solutions are the very best available and are designed to provide the maximum cleaning benefits without causing any damage to your leather. We believe our leather cleaning service is amongst the best available in Birmingham and the West Midlands. Frequently Asked Questions

We may be able to repair small or minor damage, but we do not generally offer repair services for upholstery, only restoration and cleaning.

No, unfortunately we are not able to offer this service.

Yes we can, we’re also happy to offer advice on how to keep your freshly cleaned upholstery fresher for longer.

Yes, we can, we offer our services for every type of upholstery.

We can clean most sofas within a couple of hours.

Absolutely, we would be happy to, simply let us know what you would like doing.

This depends on lots of factors such as the density of the upholstery fibres being cleaned, the ambient temperature and air humidity, and air flow throughout the premises. Unlike many companies using underpowered equipment, our vacuum machine has the suction to get your upholstery almost dry after cleaning. We will recommend several ways to speed up the final drying stage, but with the heating on and some windows open, most of our customer’s upholstery are usually dry within an hour of us leaving. If for any reason we anticipate the drying process to take slightly linger (in unheated or unventilated rooms) we will speed up the drying process with high powered fans and air movers.
